Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
If you've set up an email account in the "Mail" program previously, skip to step 1.B. If this is the first time you've set up a Mail account, start with 1.A and continue.
1. A) When you open the "Mail" program for the first time, you'll be prompted to configure it to send and receive email. The screen will look as it does below.
Click Continue and skip to step 2 below.
1. B) If you have opened "Mail" previously and set up an account, you'll have to set up a new account for your Saturnacan email. Launch the "Mail" program, click on the menu item "Mail" and select "Preferences."
Click on the "Accounts" icon. At the bottom left of the screen, click on the plus sign.
2. The "New Account" window will open. Select "POP" as the "Account Type." Give the account a description that relates to the Saturnacan account (such as "Saturnacan POP"). In the "Full Name" field, enter your name as you want it to appear in your outgoing emails. In the "Email Address" field, enter your saturnacan email address. Click Continue.
3. In the "Incoming Mail Server" window, the Incoming Mail Server is saturnacan.net. The "User Name" is the first part of your email address (this is also your login name). In the "Password field," enter the saturnacan email password you chose when you signed up with saturnacan. Click "Continue."
4. In the "Incoming Mail Security" window, choose "None" for "Authentication." Click "Continue."
5. In the next window, the "Outgoing Mail Server" is saturnacan.net. NOTE!! if you are on dial-up the "Outgoing Mail Server" should be smtp.telus.net rather than saturnacan.net. Uncheck the box, "Use Authentication." Click "Continue."
6. The "Account Summary" window will appear. If any of the information is incorrect, click the "Go Back" button to make corrections. Click "Continue."
7. Click "Done." Your new saturnacan account is now ready to use.
